Our primary goal is to bring you face-to-face with the reserve’s most iconic wildlife in its natural habitat. We’ll navigate to the best feeding areas to observe the magnificent Pink Flamingos and explore peaceful mangrove channels where crocodiles can often be seen basking in the sun. From the comfort and safety of our purpose-built ecotour boats, you’ll enjoy exceptional opportunities for wildlife observation and photography.

What’s Included
Purpose-built boats equipped with sunshades, shared binoculars and bird identification guides. Complimentary bottled water, ice and a cooler are provided throughout the tour. Life jackets are provided for every guest, and all tours comply with Mexican Coast Guard safety regulations. A deeper exploration of the mangrove channels, hidden birding hotspots and the reserve’s remarkable flora and fauna.

Tours can be arranged at a time that best suits your schedule. Regardless of your departure time, our expert guides will always do their very best to locate and show you the reserve’s extraordinary biodiversity. For the very best wildlife viewing opportunities, we recommend the following departure times:
Winter: 5:00 am | Summer: 6:00 am Ideal for birdwatching, peak wildlife activity and cooler temperatures.
Winter: 1:00 pm | Summer: 2:00 pm Perfect for golden-hour photography and seeing the flamingos in their most beautiful light.
Important Information
NOT All boat tours departing from Río Lagartos reach the famous pink salt ponds. However, the pink water ponds are located within a privately owned salt production area and cannot be accessed by boat.
Private Boat Rates
🚤 3-Hour Private Boat Tour (up to 6 guests): MX$3,500 per boat (not per person).
🚤 4-Hour Private Boat Tour (up to 6 guests): MX$4,000 per boat (not per person).
Conservation Fee
Biosphere Reserve entrance fee: MX$140 per person (approximately US$8).
The conservation fee is charged separately and helps protect the unique ecosystems and extraordinary biodiversity of the Ría Lagartos Biosphere Reserve.
